Meet Your Tutor
Hi, I’m Shereen Shahid, a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and someone who’s passionate about helping students feel confident and prepared as they take on the college admissions process. Go Blue!
I studied Organizational Studies at UMich, with a focus on psychology, finance, and technology innovation, and minored in Writing. Over the past five years, I’ve worked with high school students from freshman year through senior year, guiding them in everything from college list building to personal statement drafting and test prep.
My students have earned admission to top schools — including the University of Michigan (LSA, College of Engineering, & Ross), NYU, Loyola, and MSU — and collectively received $44,000+ in scholarships.
My Tutoring Style:
What makes my approach different is the balance of structure and creativity. I know students succeed when they feel supported by a clear process but also empowered to showcase their individuality. I bring experiences from working at Google and in business strategy to keep sessions dynamic, engaging, and tailored — not cookie-cutter.
I don’t just want students to finish an essay or ace a test; I want them to walk away with a deeper sense of confidence in who they are and the story they’re telling. Whether we’re refining a Common App essay, tackling ACT prep, or mapping out a college application strategy, my goal is for every student to feel prepared, proud, and in control of their path forward.
